United on the Road to Marske

Ossett United travel to Marske United this evening to face a side full of confidence after progressing in both the FA Cup (1-0 v Blyth Spartans) and FA Trophy (4-0 at Stocksbridge) in the past seven days.

The victory over National League North side Blyth means Marske are just 90 minutes away from a place in the first round of the FA Cup, this Saturday they take on Brackley Town for that right.

Wayne Benn will take his Ossett side the 83 miles to Marske this evening full of confidence after a number of good performances the Sheepicorns deservedly took three points from Widnes last Tuesday, winning 3-2 after trailing 2-0 in the first half.

Jack Cowgill, Eddie Cass, and Luke Blackburn continue their rehabilitation and are not available while Benn will hope to have a new face in the squad this evening, registrations are currently been processed and it is hoped it will be completed before the 3:45 pm deadline.

Benn and his side will be well prepared “we know Marske are a very good side and I am sure they will be in the mix for promotion. That said we don’t fear anyone, and it is a challenge we are looking forward to”

You can listen to live commentary on Ossett United radio, sponsored by Snap-On Troy, from 7.40 pm and there will be updates throughout the game on twitter.
