Match Preview: Ossett United v Workington
Ossett United host Workington tomorrow, a side who were comfortably top of the division when the season was null and void in 2019/20 – and will be expecting to be challenging for automatic promotion once again this season.
The Reds come into this game sitting second in the Pitching In NPL First Division N/West with 15 points from their opening seven games and in a confident mood to improve that at Ingfield with manager Danny Grainger telling their Twitter account “if we approach the game in the right manner we can win all three points”.
Ossett United welcome George Green back into the squad and Reggie Waud will be looking to make his home debut but are still without Luke Blackburn (ankle), Eddie Cass (groin), Jack Cowgill (broken wrist), Ben Teasdale (shoulder), and now manager Wayne Benn who received notification from the NHS he must self-isolate.
Despite this Benn is confident Chick Hayward and the coaching staff can inspire the side who are full of confidence after picking up four points in the last two games.
On Workington Benn said, “in my opinion Workington are one of the best footballing sides in the division and another one of the favourites for promotion”.
The game at Ingfield kick off at 3pm, tickets are available to buy in advance here.
