End of Season Reflection - Josh Askew
We have come to the final game of the season, one massive cup final left for us as a club and as a community. We need our 12th man for the final time this season, we need the voices, we need the cheers and the encouragement from every fan on Saturday to help push us for 90 minutes.
All season, our fans have been our 12th man and have followed us up and down the country, every home game midweek or weekend. We have ourselves in a position to stay in this league on Saturday and we will do everything we can to make sure that is the only outcome.
This season has had its ups and downs more than any other in my career, but it has been an absolute honour to captain this side under our manager and staff. We know at times we have let ourselves down, we also know at times we have gone toe-to-toe with the big teams in this league. It’s not over until it is over, and we have prepared right this week to make sure everyone is as ready as they can be for this monumental game at home against BPA.
Personally, after coming back from a torn Achilles, it hasn’t been easy but these last few months I feel now more than ever I’m back to full fitness and playing as well as I can do which has been really positive. However, injuries in the squad has halted us in our progression up the league and we hope they come back stronger and better for it next season.
Finally, this is our cup final on Saturday and we want everyone fan to bring themselves, bring their friends, bring their partners and children along to. Let’s make this a special day both on and off the pitch as we need our 12th man one final time for this monumental game against BPA.
it’s not over until it’s over and as a group of players, management staff, club & community we will do our very best to make sure this club stays up this season.
