A Message From The Chairman
The intention was these notes would have been in the programme this evening for the mid season friendly with Golcar United, which has unfortunately been postponed.
As many of you will have seen on social media last week the Trident Leagues (The NPL, Isthmian and Southern Football League) voted to continue the current pause on league fixtures until fans are allowed to return to games or grants are made available that will cover match day expenses.
We, like many clubs at our level, are thoroughly frustrated with the current situation but it is simply impossible to play without supporters otherwise many clubs will quickly go out of business.
Whilst in lockdown, and along with the expectation that crowd numbers will once again be limited when fans are able to return, we announced this week a partnership with Yorkshire Live Sports Streaming who will make our games available online.
To access this stream, on the day of the game, visit ossettutd.ylss.co.uk and follow the onscreen instructions. There is a £5 charge per game which is essentially covering the cost of running this service.
Hopefully, many of you will take up this option whilst we have to play behind closed doors. Craig Biddlestone along with the Ossett United Radio team – who have a new recruit to work alongside Craig and Alex Armstrong - will provide commentary on the streamed games, we’d love to hear what you think about the coverage once we can get going.
We very much appreciate the ongoing support of all of our fans and particularly our members and season ticket holders. Hopefully, we can resume the season soon and all members and season ticket holders will be able to attend the games they are paying for. If any member is having financial difficulties and wishes to pause their monthly membership please do let us know.
I’d also like to thank the ground force team who are once again doing sterling work whilst in lockdown to improve the facilities at Ingfield. We are currently refurbishing our hospitality suite as well as renovating the ladies toilets in Kelly’s Bar. Thanks to everyone supporting these developments.
Thanks again for all your support and let’s hope we can get back to some form of normality soon.
